Luke Hamilton is a NCCAOM certified acupuncturist licensed in New York State. He received his undergraduate degree in Eastern Philosophy and his Master of Science degree in acupuncture from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture . Seeking to explore the source of the medicine he had studied, Luke trained in China at several Beijing hospitals where he attended daily acupuncture rounds and lectures on topics such as specialized needling techniques, infertility, sports medicine, and skin disorders. An extensive martial arts background and former job as a personal trainer led Luke to the study of bodywork combined with acupuncture for acute traumatic injury and sports medicine as taught by Tom Bisio and Frank Butler, founders of Zheng Gu Tuina.Other professional interests include humanitarian work that brings Chinese medicine to those in the world without access to healthcare through the Global Alternative Healthcare Project.His practice is kept busy as the official league sponsor for the skaters of the Gotham Girls Roller Derby.
